THE NORTH & CASTRIES
The northern area around the capital city of Castries has plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and nightlife to choose from. This is the busiest part of the island and includes Marigot Bay and Rodney Bay as well.
THE SOUTH & SOUFRIERE
The south is the area around the town of Soufriere and the famous Pitons. There are plenty of selections available for local cuisine as well as more luxurious options with stellar Pitons views.
Budget Restaurants
Flavours of the Grill
You can’t find more authentic St. Lucian cuisine than at the locally owned, Flavours of the Grill. Here you’ll find Caribbean classics like curried goat, fresh fish, lamb, and pork chops served with traditional sides of corn or rice and peas. Top it off with a homemade dessert or a rum cocktail.
Café Ole
For the best coffee on the island, head to Café Ole. Their shaded wooden deck is the perfect place to enjoy a perfectly brewed cappuccino and the gorgeous views of Rodney Bay Marina. While there are definitely nourishing menu items –salads, sandwiches, all-natural smoothies –the real star is the irresistible French pastries that are freshly baked each morning from scratch.
Martha's Tables
The charming yellow walls and welcoming tables at Martha’s provide a genuine Soufriere local feel. Don’t be fooled by her no-frills, homemade meals because her authentic cuisine is one of the most popular lunch spots on the island. It’s ideal location near Jalousie Plantation situates Martha’s Tables on a World Heritage Site under the famous Piton Mountains overlooking the Caribbean. Don’t leave Martha’s before trying her pan-fried pork chop in creole sauce with her heaping portions of delicious sides.
Fedo’s
Fedo’s is a small eatery tucked away in a local neighborhood. It’s popularity among locals is a sure-tell sign that the food is going to be delicious. While you will find Western classics like sandwiches, burgers, and fries, nothing on the menu compares to their Chicken Curry Roti. This popular dish, along with many of the seafood mains, often sell out fast so make sure to stop by early.
Liz Roti
Liz Roti is a landmark eatery in Rodney Bay, loved by visitors and locals alike. The owner, Liz, is a native Guyana who learned to cook from her mother before moving to St. Lucia where her rotis became an instant success. She can be found selling her delicious rotis, homemade hot sauce, and delicious cakes next to Reduit Beach.
Midrange Restaurants
The Naked Fisherman
A trip to the Caribbean is not complete until you’ve sat down for dinner under a thatched roof overlooking the Caribbean, admiring the views and taking in the mouthwatering aromas of the local fare. At the Naked Fisherman, you’ll have just that. Ranked as one of the top 100 Caribbean beach bars by USA Today and Caribbean Journal you can expect each of their sea to table dishes, juicy steaks, and tasty cocktails to perfectly compliment the stunning surroundings found at Smuggler’s Cove Beach.
Treetop Restaurant and Bar
Take in the sweeping views and catch a classic island sunset at Treetop Restaurant and Bar at Caille Blanc Villa. You’ll find unique Indian and Caribbean fusion cuisine, stunning panoramic island views, and a one-of-a-kind treetop location. Make your reservation in advance if you want one of the coveted outside tables. The food at Treetop Restaurant is served Indian style with a fixed menu, and most of the plates are curries on the mild side. The menu features a welcome rum drink, appetizer, dinner, and dessert. You can dine on Feta Bruschetta, Coconut Shrimp Curry, and Fish Masala. The ambiance alone makes Treetop Restaurant worth visiting while you’re in St. Lucia.
Orlando's Restaurant & Bar
For fresh farm to table dining near St. Lucia’s most iconic landmark, the Pitons, head to Orlando’s where head chef, Orlando Sachell serves up delectable Caribbean cuisine. Guests can choose between a five course or a three course tasting menu that start with a soup and salad, then a fish, beef or a chicken dish and end with dessert. Orlando is known to greet each customer himself and ensure each guest is happy with their experience.
The Pink Plantation House
At this 140-year-old, pink French Colonial plantation house, you’ll find authentic Caribbean meets Creole cuisine. The veranda offers glorious tropical views that stretch to the sea. The menu featured local Crab Back, grilled Fish of the Day, and Jumbo Shrimp. All entrees are served on handmade ceramic plates with sides including Breadfruit Balls, Fried Plantains, and Christophene Gratin (chayote). It’s a good idea to prearrange your taxi pickup, as taxis can be hard to find in the area.
Matthew’s Rooftop
Make your way to the top of Baywalk Mall for 360-degree views of Rodney Bay Village and delicious food. Located near the beaches, this rooftop is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or grab a menu for a taste of local and international flavors. You’ll want to try the Ceviche Of The Day, the Prime Ribeye, or the Fresh Lobster.
High-End Restaurants
The Cliff at Cap
Chef Craig Jones, Caribbean Chef of the Year 2016, creates innovative, flavor-packed dishes with varying menus that reflect the freshest local produce and seasons. Elegant, French West Indian inspired dishes dominate the menu. For starters, try the Conch Ceviche Tartlet and for a main, the Caramelized Seafood Risotto with samphire, and parmesan crisp.
The Big Chef Steakhouse
Whether you look at Chef and owner Rosie Gainville’s impressive international resume or just refer to previous guests’ glowing reviews, it won’t take long to discover the food is beyond amazing. Choose from a lunch, dinner, or dessert menu featuring seafood classics, steaks, vegetarian options, and extensive dessert possibilities.
The Coal Pot
The Coal Pot is a romantic spot on the Vigie Marina waterfront at Casa del Vega, with a retro-colonial interior and beautiful views of the water. French Chef Xavier expertly prepares a French West Indie menu complete with local fish, creole sauces, grilled tenderloin and an extensive wine list.
Rabot Restaurant
The Rabot Estate is an organic, 140-acre cacao farm overlooking St. Lucia’s famous Petit Piton Mountain. On the estate, you’ll find the open-air Rabot Restaurant that fuses its sustainably grown cacao into every item on their gourmet menu. Some dishes, like the Ti’ Scallops, deliver a savory cacao taste by marinating the pan-seared scallops in cacao nibs and basting them in a citrus sauce. Other dishes, like the Rabot Chocolate Lava take on a sweeter approach.
Dasheene
Dasheene’s award winning cuisine can be found within the romantic Ladera Resort. Executive Chef Nigel Mitchel delivers traditional St. Lucian dishes with a modern twist using fresh local ingredients, straight from the neighboring plantations. Favorites include the roast conch with pickled vegetables in a yam basket, or the plantain gratin with coconut rum sauce.
