Oranjestad
The capital city of the Dutch island of Aruba, Oranjestad, is also the largest city. Visitors can find a busy nightlife scene with abundant restaurants, clubs, bars, and casinos. There are also tourist attractions here like Fort Zoutman, the oldest building.
Noord
Noord stands for “North” and is at the island’s northern tip. It is both a town and a region in Aruba. Here visitors will find both low-rise and higher-rise hotels, but there are also beaches, lighthouses, and other sights to visit.
Palm Beach
Palm Beach is a two-mile strip on the northern coast of Aruba known for luxury resorts and nearby snorkeling and water sports. Nearby streets are lined with bars and restaurants, and the Bubali Bird Sanctuary is nearby. Visitors will appreciate the calm waters and beautiful scenery.
Eagle Beach
Eagle Beach is both a beach and a neighborhood of Oranjestad. Known as the most expansive beach in Aruba, Eagle Beach is also rated one of the best beaches in the world.
Budget Restaurants
King Fred and Princess Diana
If you are looking to start your day with a hearty and healthy breakfast, look no further than Diana’s Pancake Place. They serve Dutch style pancakes here, offering vegan and gluten free options as well. Choose from a variety of different pancakes topped with your favorite fruit, syrups and whatever topping your heart desires. Prices are very reasonable and great for anyone on a budget.
Café Restaurant Yanti
Located in Oranjestad, just 2 miles away from the airport, this family-run restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This restaurant is a more ”off the beaten path” option, but definitely not one to miss. Cafe Restaurant Yanti has amazing flavors amongst their dishes, such as Surinaamse style sandwiches, curry and rice, fresh plantains, and so much more. Take-out, vegan and gluten free options are available.
Jack’s Cafe
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Jack’s Cafe is famous for its locally fresh-squeezed orange juice and their Dutch pea soup. The menu here ranges from a multitude of snacks, sandwiches, or full hearty meals. This is a great place to stop for a rest, do some work (as there is free wifi available) or just quickly grab a bite to eat. They offer low prices and quick service, plus Jack’s Cafe also offers some of the best coffee you can find on the island.
G&G Pizza
Welcome to the home of the best pizza and best chicken wings on the island of Aruba. After winning the “best wings competition” for multiple years, they have proven their flavors and recipes cannot be beaten. Their pizzas offer less dough and more toppings, and their wings range from sweet and savory to hot and spicy. G&G Pizza has a very welcoming atmosphere, making guests feel right at home. Prices are great, and they offer vegetarian pizza and take out options as well.
Indo
Located in Noord, Aruba, this restaurant is well liked by the locals because of its large portions and affordable prices. Indo offers a blend of Suriname’s and Indonesian cuisine options, with bursting and tangy flavors such as chicken-satay, bami goreng, roti, curry and rice and much more! This family-owned restaurant offers a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, making it easy for guests to keep coming back time and time again. Keep in mind that Indo is a cash only restaurant.
Midrange Restaurants
Gostoso Restaurant
A locally known favorite, Gostoso Restaurant offers a mixture of Portuguese and Aruban dishes to satisfy any appetite. They are famous for their daily homemade sangria, which is blended with locally grown fresh fruits. The menu offers a variety of dishes, such as angus beef, goat stew, octopus, crab and much more. If that isn’t your style, there are a multitude of special soups and salads, all at a reasonable price.
Bistro de Suikertuin
Located on one of the oldest streets in Aruba, in a 100-year-old historic mansion lies the Bistro De Suikertuin. Bistro De Suikertuin offers guests homemade and healthy meal choices, or it is also a great place to stop for an afternoon tea or wine. There is a dining area and bar and a shaded outdoor patio for guests to enjoy some fresh air. Some signature dishes guests can find are Keshi Yana and chicken curry and rice, but don’t forget about the freshly made cakes and sandwiches as well. It’s no wonder Bistro De Suikertuin has been named one of the best catering services in Aruba.
Kamini’s Kitchen
Kamini’s Kitchen, located in Sero Colorado, not far from the beach, is owned by a local couple and got famous just from word of mouth around the island. This colorful Cafe offers locally known specialties in a cozy and friendly environment, where Kamini makes everyone feel like family. Each food portion is served in a tiny Dutch oven delivered to your seat. The menu consists of various local favorites such as curry, fried snapper, goat, and plantains, as well as vegan and vegetarian options.
Asi es mi Peru
Asi es mi Peru showcases all the food in their restaurant that made Peru famous. Located at Paradise Beach Villas, this restaurant features genuine Peruvian cooking preparations and a luxurious and formal dining room. Not only can you try mouthwatering dishes such as Lomo Saltado and Tiradito, but Asiem mi Peru also has a Peruvian market where you can purchase Peruvian style crafts, trinkets, recipes and much more! Asi es mi Peru is open for lunch and dinner every day except Monday.
Aquarius
A more upscale contemporary-style restaurant, Aquarius is located right in the heart of Oranjestad, inside the Renaissance Wind & Creek Aruba Resort. Indulge in a blend of Caribbean and seafood dishes, served ala carte and buffet-style, giving guests the option to serve themselves. The buffet and the menu offer seafood, meats, and mouthwatering desserts. Aquarius gives off a very chill and relaxing atmosphere, with friendly and attentive staff.
High End Restaurants
2 Fools and a Bull
2 Fools and a Bull is not only a high-end luxurious restaurant. It can better be described as a ‘culinary experience.’ The restaurant offers guests an experience they won’t forget and has been voted one of the best attractions in Aruba. This restaurant allows only 17 guests per night, so everyone gets the experience they deserve. Guests are served a 5 1/2 course meal, with available wine pairings for each course. With food and service to die for, 2 Fools and a Bull is a must see when visiting Aruba.
LG Smith’s Steak and Chop House
Voted as the #1 steakhouse in Aruba, LG Smith’s Steak and Chop house is an icon for a fine dining experience. Located at the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort, this steakhouse offers guests not only a dinner but an experience. Steaks are USDA certified, and the blends of flavoring couldn’t be more perfect. The service is phenomenal, including at the bar, with mixologists serving any cocktail or drink imaginable. LG Smith’s Steak and Chop house also offers vegetarian options, so everyone is always welcome.
Senses
Senses is a fine dining establishment unlike any other, with top-rated world-class chefs taking their cooking skills to the max. This restaurant is located in the award-winning, adults-only resort of Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort. It has limited seating so chefs can better create exquisite meals that guests will love. It is famous for changing their menu options every two weeks, so no experience will ever be the same. Senses includes an 8 course “chefs table” dining experience with food influenced by French, Dutch, and Norwegian dishes, prepared by award-winning Dutch/Norwegian chefs who take pride in their creative food preparations. Reservations are required, as seats fill up quickly. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.
Fred Royal Aruba
The name suits it well as Fred Royal Aruba is a royal experience unlike any other. Shaped like a “U” with only 17 guests permitted (18 years or older), it is the perfect atmosphere for a night of fine dining, great wines, and fun. Chefs here take great pride in creating unique dishes guests will love and encourage people to try new things. Each dinner experience is 3.5 hours long, including a 5-course dinner meal with wine pairing for each course. Once completed, guests are invited for after meal drinks on a rooftop terrace to talk and socialize with the cuisine masters themselves. Vegan and Vegetarian options are currently not available; Fred Royal loves its protein.
The Kitchen Table
Located at Eagle Beach, The Kitchen Table gained its popularity from their elegant and extraordinary eight course dinners and has been voted ‘Best Restaurant in the Caribbean’ for several years. Every Tuesday-Saturday, 16 lucky guests can take part in an experience of a lifetime, with each dish being a fusion of Caribbean and Peruvian style cuisine. Guests are also welcome to pair each course with a wine that compliments all the blends and flavors. The small and underrated atmosphere with an ocean backdrop allows guests to really immerse themselves in an unforgettable evening of fine dining.
Barefoot Restaurant
Barefoot is the perfect beach restaurant for a fantastic dinner with amazing tropical ambiance. Located in Talk Of The Town Hotel & Beach Club, you’ll find delicious food, friendly service, the gentle tropical breeze, and the ocean as the background for your meal. At Barefoot, you’ll dine right on the beach, making it the perfect place to sip a mojito while watching the sunset. Try the Shrimp Croquettes or the Dutch Crab Cakes for starters. Entree favorites include Caribbean Grouper, Tenderloin & Truffle, and Tuna Pepper Steak. Leave room for some decadent Coffee Crème Brûlée, Key Lime Pie, or BananaMisu.
